LiteSpeed Cache the plugin most WordPress sites are missing

WordPress that answers in a blink

The cache that makes the biggest difference to WordPress is built into the web server here, not bolted on. Install the plugin, tick one box, and the site stops rebuilding itself for every visitor.

WordPress is heavier than a static page — every visit is a database query and a template render, unless something caches it. That makes the distance to your reader count twice: once for the request, once for everything the page then asks for. A blog read mostly in one country belongs on a machine in that country.

Who puts WordPress here

Four kinds of site, and where each one gets stuck

WordPress runs fine on almost anything until it does not. These are the four points where people notice.

A blog that started getting read

Fifty visitors a day is nothing. Five hundred at once, from one post that travelled, is a different machine entirely — and the cache is what decides which of those you can survive.

A WooCommerce shop

Baskets and checkouts cannot be cached, so they hit the database every time. That is an I/O problem rather than a disk one, which is why a bigger plan helps and a bigger disk does not.

Client sites you look after

Staging on every account, WP-CLI for the bulk work, and separate databases so one broken site stays broken on its own.

A site with a plugin problem

Everybody has one. JetBackup keeps thirty days and you restore it yourself, without a ticket and without waiting for us to be awake.

Why it is quick

Three things, and what each does to a WordPress page

WordPress builds every page from scratch unless something stops it. These are the three things that stop it.

LiteSpeed Cache, in the server

Most caching plugins write HTML files and hope. LiteSpeed caches inside the web server itself, so a cached page never reaches PHP at all — the difference is usually four or five times, not a few percent.

NVMe under the database

Every uncached page is a handful of database queries. NVMe answers them in microseconds rather than milliseconds, and a WooCommerce page makes a lot of queries.

CloudLinux around the account

WordPress is spiky: one crawler or one popular post can eat a processor. Your slice is yours, so a neighbour's traffic is their problem.

What comes with it

Twelve things, on the cheapest plan too

Nothing on this list is a tier above or an add-on at checkout.

One-click install WordPress running in about a minute, from cPanel
LiteSpeed Cache Supported in the server, not just the plugin
Staging subdomain Break things somewhere nobody is looking
Automatic updates Core and plugins, or switch it off if you prefer
WP-CLI For anybody who would rather not click
JetBackup Daily, kept 30 days, restore it yourself
Free SSL Issued and renewed, no plugin needed
Imunify360 Scans for the things WordPress sites catch
PHP 8.3 And older versions if a theme still needs one
MySQL and phpMyAdmin Direct access when a plugin will not do
Cron that actually runs Real cron, not WordPress guessing on page loads
Softaculous clone Copy a site to staging and back again

Getting on it

Three steps, and the site is live

1

Pick a plan

Take the smallest that fits. Moving up later costs the difference and nothing goes down.

2

Install WordPress

One form in cPanel — site name, admin user, done. SSL issues itself while you are typing.

3

Turn the cache on

Install LiteSpeed Cache from the plugin screen and enable it. That one step is most of the speed.

Questions

Before you move a site here

Will you move my existing site?

Tell us what you are coming from and we will say what is involved. cPanel to cPanel is usually straightforward; a manual export takes longer but works.

Do I have to use LiteSpeed Cache?

No, and WordPress will run without any cache at all. But it is the single biggest thing you can do to a WordPress site, it is free, and it takes one tick. Other caching plugins work too, just not as well on this server.

How many plugins can I run?

As many as you like. The limit is not a count — it is what they do. Twenty light plugins are fine; one badly written one that queries the database on every page load is not.

Can I run WooCommerce?

Yes, on any plan. A shop with a few hundred products is comfortable on the middle tier; several thousand, or heavy traffic, wants the business plans or a VPS.

What about staging?

Every account gets a subdomain you can clone the site onto, break, fix, and push back. It is in cPanel under Softaculous.

Is this the same as a Forex VPS?

No. Hosting runs websites; a VPS runs your terminal. MT4 and MT5 will not run on shared hosting, whichever plan you take.

One click to install, one tick to make it quick

WordPress, LiteSpeed and SSL, on a machine in whichever city your readers are in.
