Read inside MT4 and MT5 against a live account, taken as the median of a week. Not an ICMP ping — that travels a different path and gives a number you cannot act on.
The number is the only clue. FBS-Real and FBS-Real-5 sit in London, FBS-Real-10 in New York. Nothing in the name says so, and a demo account tells you nothing about where your live one will sit — FBS-Demo answers from London whichever live group you end up on. If your server is not in this table, send us the name from your terminal's login window and we will measure it.

London is the city for most FBS accounts, New York if you are on Real-10. Send us your server name before you order and we will confirm rather than have you guess.

The group number is the whole story
Most brokers leave some trace of geography in the server name. IC Markets put the datacentre in it outright. FBS put nothing in it at all — the name is the broker and a number, and the number is what decides which city you want.
Of the four groups we have measured, three answer from London and one from New York. FBS-Real-5 is London at 1.29 ms, FBS-Real London at 1.52, FBS-Real-10 New York at 2.24. Read the number off your login window before you pick a city, because there is no rule to infer it from.
A demo account tells you nothing about your live one
FBS-Demo answers from London. That is true whichever live group you are later placed on, so a trader who tests against demo, sees London, and orders a London VPS can find their live account sitting in New York.
This is the mistake worth avoiding here. Open the live account first, read the group number, then choose the city — or send us the name and we will measure it before you order anything.
Three entities, and yours changes the rules
Tradestone Ltd is the Cyprus entity under CySEC, FBS Markets Inc is the offshore one under the FSC, and there is an Australian entity under ASIC. Which one holds your account depends on your country, and it changes more than the paperwork.
Leverage is the clearest difference: the offshore entity goes far higher than the European one, and investor compensation exists under CySEC where it does not offshore. Worth checking on their site which entity you were onboarded to before you deposit.
Cent accounts count as real volume
FBS is one of the brokers where a cent account is a normal way to start rather than an afterthought. The lots are a hundredth of the size, but the volume still counts towards a free VPS — it simply takes proportionally more of them.
The figures for each account type are on this page rather than as one number with a footnote, because the difference between them is large enough to matter when you are deciding which to open.
