FXS VPS • MT4 / MT5 Auto Startup Guide

How To Enable MT4 MT5 Auto Startup On Forex VPS just in one click

FXS VPS Auto Startup Tools help you automatically start your MetaTrader 4 and MetaTrader 5 terminals after a VPS reboot. This is useful for Forex traders who want their MT4/MT5 platforms, Expert Advisors, and trading systems to come back online automatically without manual login or manual terminal startup.

How To Enable MT4 MT5 Auto Startup On Forex VPS
Important: Before enabling auto startup, make sure your MT4 or MT5 terminal folder is placed inside Program Files. The auto startup tool works best when MetaTrader is installed or copied inside the correct Program Files location.

Why Use MT4 / MT5 Auto Startup Tools?

Forex VPS users often run Expert Advisors, copy trading platforms, indicators, and trading robots. If the VPS restarts due to maintenance, Windows update, or manual reboot, MT4/MT5 terminals may not open automatically unless auto startup is configured correctly.

  • Automatically start MT4/MT5 after VPS reboot
  • Reduce manual login and manual startup work
  • Keep Expert Advisors and trading platforms online
  • Improve trading continuity
  • Useful for traders running multiple terminals

Before You Start

Before using the FXS VPS Auto Startup Tool, make sure your VPS is ready.

  • You have access to your Windows Forex VPS
  • MT4 or MT5 is already installed
  • Your MetaTrader terminal is working properly
  • Your trading account is already logged in
  • Your terminal folder is inside Program Files
  • You have Administrator access on the VPS
Tip: Open your MT4/MT5 once before enabling auto startup and confirm your account is logged in correctly.

Step 1 – Keep Your MT4 / MT5 Files Inside Program Files

First, make sure your MT4 or MT5 terminal folder is located inside the Program Files folder on your VPS. This helps the auto startup tool detect the terminal path correctly.

This PC → Local Disk (C:) → Program Files

If your MT4/MT5 folder is on the Desktop or Downloads folder, move or reinstall it inside Program Files before continuing.

Keep MT4 and MT5 files inside Program Files Step 1 – Keep your MT4/MT5 terminal folder inside Program Files for best auto startup compatibility.

Step 2 – Open The FXS VPS Auto Startup Folder

On your VPS desktop, open the FxSVPS-AutoStart folder. This folder contains the required files for enabling auto login and auto startup for MT4/MT5 terminals.

Desktop → FxSVPS-AutoStart-v1

Inside this folder, you may see files such as:

  • add_paths
  • enable_autostart
  • list_tasks
  • README
  • remove_autostart
Open FXS VPS Auto Startup folder Step 2 – Open the FXS VPS Auto Startup folder from your VPS desktop.

Step 3 – Run “Enable Auto Startup” As Administrator

Inside the Auto Startup folder, right-click on enable_autostart and select Run as administrator.

Right click enable_autostart → Run as administrator

A command window will open and scan your VPS for installed MT4/MT5 terminals.

Important: Always run the tool as Administrator. Without Administrator permission, the auto startup task may not be created correctly.
Run enable_autostart as administrator Step 3 – Run the enable_autostart file as Administrator.

Step 4 – Select The MT4 / MT5 Terminals You Want To Auto Start

After the tool opens, it will list detected MetaTrader terminals. You need to enter the terminal numbers that you want to enable for auto startup.

Example: If you have 2 terminals: 1,2 If you have 3 terminals: 1,2,3 Then press Enter.

The tool will create auto startup tasks for the selected terminals. After this, your selected MT4/MT5 terminals should start automatically after every VPS reboot.

Select MT4 and MT5 terminals for auto startup Step 4 – Select terminal numbers to enable MT4/MT5 auto startup.

Step 5 – Confirm Auto Login & Auto Startup

After enabling the tool, restart your VPS during a safe non-trading time and confirm that your selected MT4/MT5 terminals open automatically.

Restart VPS → Wait for Windows login → MT4/MT5 opens automatically

If your MetaTrader account was previously logged in and saved correctly, your trading platform should return online without requiring manual setup.

Best Practice: Test auto startup during weekends or non-trading hours to avoid trading interruption.
MT4 and MT5 auto startup enabled Step 5 – Confirm MT4/MT5 auto login and auto startup after VPS reboot.

How To Remove Auto Startup Later

If you no longer want a terminal to start automatically, open the same Auto Startup folder and run the remove option.

FxSVPS-AutoStart-v1 → remove_autostart → Run as administrator

This will remove the auto startup task from your Windows VPS.

Best Practices For MT4 / MT5 Auto Startup

  • Keep MetaTrader installed inside Program Files
  • Save your MT4/MT5 login session before enabling auto startup
  • Do not move terminal folders after enabling auto startup
  • Test after reboot during non-trading hours
  • Keep your VPS password secure
  • Use only trusted EAs and indicators
