Real cPanel not a panel we wrote and called cPanel

The panel you already know

File manager where you expect it, backups in the format you have, and the same terminology you have been using for years. Moving here means changing servers, not changing habits.

One thing worth knowing before you move: your current host's city is not necessarily the right one. Plenty of accounts sit wherever the provider had space, not where the readers are. It costs nothing to check, and moving later costs nothing either.

Who moves here

Four reasons people leave the host they had

Almost nobody moves hosting because they were curious. These are the four that come up in tickets.

The renewal came in higher

First year cheap, second year not. It is the oldest trick in hosting and it is why most accounts move. Our renewal is our price — there is no introductory rate to fall off.

The panel changed

A provider swaps cPanel for something they built, and suddenly nothing is where it was. If you searched for cPanel by name, you already know why that matters.

Support stopped answering

Or answers in a day, from a script. The machines matter less than whether anybody picks up when one of them misbehaves.

The site got slow and nobody would say why

Usually a crowded box. CloudLinux gives each account its own slice, so a neighbour's traffic stops being your problem.

What you keep

Three things that come across with you

A move is only easy if the parts you rely on arrive intact. These three usually decide whether it is an hour or a weekend.

Your backup, as it is

A cPanel full backup restores here without conversion, because it is the same panel at the other end. No exporting to some intermediate format and hoping.

Your email, with it

Mailboxes, forwarders, autoresponders and filters are inside that backup. Email is the part people forget until it is gone.

Your settings

Cron jobs, redirects, PHP version, subdomains. All of it is in the backup, and all of it lands where you expect.

What is in the panel

Twelve things, exactly where you left them

Nothing on this list is a tier above or an add-on at checkout.

File Manager Upload, edit and unzip without an FTP client
Backup wizard Full or partial, download or restore
Email accounts On your domain, with webmail and filters
phpMyAdmin Direct database access when a plugin will not do
Cron jobs Real scheduled tasks, set from the panel
SSH access A terminal, for anybody who prefers one
Softaculous 400+ scripts, install and clone
AutoSSL Certificates issued and renewed with no action
Subdomains And addon domains, on the plans that include them
PHP selector 8.3 down to older builds a theme still needs
Redirects Managed in the panel rather than hand-edited
Error logs Readable, without opening a ticket to see them

Moving in

Three steps, and about an hour of waiting

1

Take a full backup

From the Backup Wizard at your current host. Full, not partial — it carries the mail and the settings as well as the files.

2

Send it to us

Upload it, or tell us where it is and we will fetch it. We restore it and check the site loads before you touch anything.

3

Point the domain

Change the nameservers when you are happy the site works here. The old host keeps serving until DNS moves, so nothing is down in between.

Questions

Asked by almost everybody moving

Is this genuine cPanel?

Yes, licensed, with WHM on the reseller plans. Not a panel we wrote and named after it — which is worth asking anywhere, because several hosts now do exactly that.

Will you do the move for me?

Send us the backup, or tell us where it lives, and we will restore it and check the site works before you change anything. Coming from cPanel it is usually straightforward.

Will my site go down during the move?

No, if you do it in the order above. The old host keeps serving until you change the nameservers, so there is a window where both work and you pick the moment.

Does my email come across?

Yes — mailboxes, forwarders, filters and autoresponders are all inside a full cPanel backup. Check the mailbox sizes against the plan before you start.

What if my current host does not use cPanel?

It still works, it just takes longer. Files and databases move by hand and email needs setting up again. Tell us what you are on and we will say what is involved.

Can I get WHM?

On the reseller plans, yes — that is where you create accounts and set your own packages.

Same panel, better machines

Restore a backup, check it works, point the domain. About an hour, most of it waiting.
