About this broker
HFM has operated since 2010 and runs through several entities — HF Markets in Cyprus under CySEC, HF Markets UK under the FCA, and separate arms under the FSCA and DFSA. Which one holds your account depends on your country, and it changes your leverage cap and what compensation scheme covers you.
The account range is where HFM differs for a free VPS. Premium earns ten times what Zero Spread does per lot, because the rebate comes out of the spread markup on one and the commission on the other. Same servers, same liquidity — a very different number of lots.
Commonly cited
- No minimum deposit to open an account
- Three account types, from spread-only to raw with commission
- Premium needs the fewest lots of any broker we list
- Cent accounts available for testing with small sums
Worth checking first
- The entity you are assigned to varies by country, and so do your protections
- Zero Spread and Pro earn a much lower rebate, so a free VPS needs several times the volume
- We have not measured HFM server latency yet — ask us before you pick a city
- Spreads widen around major news, as with any broker
Written by us, not by HFM. We are paid a rebate on the volume you trade there, which funds the free VPS — so read this as a description rather than a recommendation. We do not score brokers and we are not authorised to advise you on which to choose. Everything above can be checked on their own site or with the regulator named.
We are paid a rebate by this broker. That is how the free VPS is funded, and it is worth knowing before you read the reviews below. We do not rate brokers ourselves, and we do not remove a review for being unfavourable — only for being abusive, off-topic or unverifiable.
