Anaconda VPS

The Python data stack, without building it from source.

conda ships NumPy, SciPy and pandas already compiled, with the maths libraries underneath them. No toolchain to install and nothing waiting on a build — which is the whole reason people reach for it on a fresh machine.

From $6.37/mo on a yearly cycle · full Anaconda wants disk

Six sizes, and this one is about disk first.

A full Anaconda install is around five gigabytes before your own data. Miniconda is far lighter, so pick the plan on which of the two you intend to run.

Every plan here undercuts its Windows counterpart — because there is no Microsoft licence inside it. That is the whole difference: same hardware, same cities, same support.

12 distributions. Here is when each one is right.

Any of them, on any plan, reinstallable from your panel in about five minutes.

Install something

Order to root

Ninety seconds, and none of it waiting on us.

Nothing is approved by hand and nothing is queued. The only slow part is you deciding which city.

01 Order

Pick a size and a city

Full Anaconda takes about five gigabytes before your data arrives. The 20 GB plan is tight; 40 GB upward is comfortable.

0:00
02 Key

Paste your public key

We never set a root password unless you ask. The key is safer and takes the same ten seconds.

0:01
03 Build

The machine builds itself

Ninety seconds on a KVM guest with its own kernel. Nothing to approve, nobody to wait for.

0:02
04 Install

The installer script, then conda init

Five minutes for the full distribution, under one for Miniconda. Then create an environment and get on with it.

0:03

Nothing is preinstalled and no Python is chosen for you. A clean distribution and root is easier to trust, and easier to rebuild, than an image we have already changed.

In your panel, not in a ticket queue

Six tools you will use every week.

Buttons you press yourself, included on every plan — this one too. There are more than twenty in the panel; these are the ones that change the day.

Compiled, not built

NumPy arrives with MKL and SciPy with BLAS already linked. On a fresh machine that saves a toolchain install and a long wait.

01

Environments that do not collide

One project on Python 3.10, another on 3.12, neither aware of the other. conda activate and the PATH changes underneath you.

02

Miniconda if you prefer

The full distribution is about five gigabytes. Miniconda is a few hundred megabytes and pulls only what you ask for.

03

It coexists with apt

conda in your home directory, system Python untouched. Root means you choose which one the shell finds first.

04

Jupyter drops straight in

conda install jupyterlab, then a tunnel or nginx. The kernel sees the environment it was launched from.

05

Export and rebuild elsewhere

environment.yml pins the versions. The same file rebuilds the machine, or a colleague's, without argument.

06

Twenty more sit alongside them — reboots, graphs, hostname changes, Windows Update control, time zone sync. The cheapest machine has the same panel as the most expensive. See how each one works →

Before you spend anything.

The questions our support desk actually receives, answered plainly.

The full distribution is roughly five gigabytes installed, before any data or environments of your own. Miniconda is a few hundred megabytes and pulls packages only as you ask for them, which is why most people on a server choose it.
Miniconda, usually. The full distribution bundles hundreds of packages you will not open, and on a machine you are paying for by the gigabyte that matters more than it does on a laptop.
Anaconda changed its terms for larger organisations, so check their current licence against your headcount before you rely on the default channels. conda-forge is the usual answer for anyone who would rather not think about it.
Yes, with care. Install what you can with conda first, then pip inside the same environment for anything conda does not carry. Mixing them in the other order is where dependency trouble usually starts.
Not on these plans. These are CPU machines, which suits pandas, scikit-learn and inference on small models. Ask us before you order if the workload needs CUDA.
No. You get a clean distribution with full root, and the installer script does the rest. An unmodified system is easier to trust than one we have already changed.
Yes, once a month at no charge. Environments and data come with the machine.

Still unsure which plan or which city? Send us your broker's account server name and we will measure it before you buy.

Latency around LD4 and Amsterdam is excellent — orders feel instant. We moved four accounts across and none of them noticed a thing.

Clear pricing and low latency. Migration was seamless — they moved the whole thing over a weekend and the renewal price has not moved since.
